Dr. Jiri Snaidr is a microbiologist, technology developer, and entrepreneur with more than 30 years of experience in applied microbiology. After earning his Ph.D. from the Department of Microbiology at the Technical University of Munich, he founded vermicon AG in 1997, where he remains CEO to this day. His work focuses on the development and application of innovative microbiological detection methods as well as the direct analysis of microorganisms in complex samples.

Dr. Snaidr is the author of numerous scientific publications and an international speaker on topics in applied and industrial microbiology. As part of the GO-Bio funding program, he served for many years as a reviewer for the Federal Ministry of Education and Research. As First Vice President of the VAAM, he is committed to strengthening the importance of applied microbiology in science, business, and society.

Communicating microbiological findings beyond the scientific community is another focus of his work. In 2017, he founded Magnospira GmbH & Co. KG with the goal of making scientific findings about microorganisms and their significance for health, the microbiome, and the environment accessible to a broader public.
