Laboratory analysis: Profile bacterial populations of wastewater samples
A cultivation-independent profile of all bacteria in the sample is created. Existing bacteria are classified according to their affiliation to the main bacterial groups and the individual groups are quantitatively determined as a percentage of the vital bacterial flora. Not only known, culturable bacteria are recorded with the gene probes, but also previously unknown and non-culturable bacteria are assigned to the existing main bacterial groups. In addition, the total cell count (live and dead) is determined. This service is ideal if a population profile of the bacteria and archaebacteria present in a test sample is to be created in an undirected manner and without selection pressure through cultivation.
The report contains informative photo documentation that visualizes the individual bacterial populations in the test sample.
