Laboratory analysis: 16S rRNA amplicon sequencing

In this service, the resilience of the wastewater biocoenosis of the wastewater treatment plant is determined as a trend variable of diversity. This is based on 16S rDNA amplicon sequence analyses, in which the number of taxonomic units (OTUs) is determined. The development of diversity over time provides valuable information on the stability and adaptability of the biology within biological wastewater treatment.

Monitoring with repeated analyses at regular intervals is recommended in order to reliably monitor trends and initiate suitable measures at an early stage. This monitoring can serve as a basis for establishing a lead bacteria analysis and for exact quantification with the VIT® gene probe technology.
