VIT® ABM makes the condition of activated sludge biology quantifiable in terms of active biomass and stress level. The focus of this webinar is wastewater treatment plant operation: how measurement data are acquired and interpreted in such a way that robust operational signals are generated—signals that make disturbances visible at an earlier stage, allow comparisons across time periods and treatment lines, and provide verifiable evidence of the effectiveness of operational interventions. In addition, the webinar demonstrates how VIT® ABM, as a system consisting of instrument, kits, and services, can be pragmatically integrated into everyday plant operations.

Agenda
- PRESENTATION: VIT® ABM: Making biomass measurable
- What “active biomass” means in practical plant operation, and why classical parameters often fail to reflect it adequately.
- Which VIT® ABM key parameters are central (AVSS, ABR, BSI) and which statements can be derived from them with confidence.
- Measurement concept for routine operation: sampling points, frequency, event logic, comparability.
- PRESENTATION: Data evaluation in operational practice
- Data interpretation as process diagnostics: defining the normal state, classifying deviations, assessing trends.
- Typical misinterpretations and how to avoid them in operational data analysis.
- PRESENTATION: Solutions for wastewater treatment plant operation
- System overview: instrument, kits, sample handling, result parameters, documentation.
- Integration into daily operation: roles, workflows, quality checks, data storage, and reporting.
- Scalable implementation: from rapid checks to structured routine monitoring and event-based analysis.
The webinar concludes with an interactive Q&A session, providing space for open questions, in-depth discussion, and exchange on specific topics.
Who should attend this webinar:
This webinar is aimed at wastewater treatment plant operators and operating staff, technical plant managers, process engineers, as well as external consultants and assessors who seek to evaluate activated sludge biology more robustly in daily practice.
What you take with you:
A clear understanding of which operational statements VIT® ABM parameters actually provide and how they should be classified methodologically.
A practice-oriented evaluation logic that enables reliable identification and comparison of normal states, trend changes, and stress events.
A procedural model showing how measurement data are translated into traceable decisions on aeration, sludge wasting, return sludge control, and event management.
An implementation framework for everyday plant operation: instrument, kits, routine workflow, documentation, and reporting.
Criteria for demonstrating the effectiveness of operational interventions based on measurement data and for avoiding typical misinterpretations.
