Microorganisms Desired: Analysis and Quality Control

Microbial starter cultures are used for the targeted microbial manipulation of a product. Starter cultures can be used in various areas of food production, such as yoghurt, cheese and sour milk products. Starter cultures can be present both in pure culture and as a defined mixed culture.

With VIT® it is finally possible to ensure that exactly the right starter cultures are used. Even after use, constant monitoring prevents uncontrolled undesirable development. This means safety in the production process and economic advantages by eliminating faulty batches.

Purity

VIT® can be used to check the purity of the starter cultures. Contamination is immediately apparent and production can be stopped before a cost-intensive faulty batch is produced.

Growth

The growth of the starter cultures can be precisely analyzed and tracked with VIT®. In this way, incorrect batches can be ruled out.

Populations

VIT® can be used to analyze the proportion of different populations in a (mixed) starter culture. The ratio of the starter cultures to the remaining bacteria can also be analyzed.

VIT® Services

Due to its complexity, the analysis of starter culture populations is preferably offered as a service in the vermicon laboratories. Kits are also available for the pure detection of starter cultures, which can be used directly on-site at the producer. The individual development of detection kits for individual requirements is also possible and is handled quickly and professionally.

Our reports on the monitoring of starter cultures use tables and images to show you the impressive development of your starter culture populations in your product. In addition to this, our VIT® Profiling service is available to help you optimize your production processes.
