The CEO of vermicon AG assumes Vice Presidency of the Association for General and Applied Microbiology

Hallbergmoos, May 22, 2025 – Dr. Jiri Snaidr, founder and CEO of vermicon AG, has been elected First Vice President of the Association for General and Applied Microbiology (VAAM) during its general assembly in Bochum. In his new role, he will play a central part in shaping the strategic direction of one of the most important microbiological associations in the German-speaking world.

VAAM unites around 3,500 microbiologists from academia and industry and serves as a platform for interdisciplinary exchange of the latest scientific insights. Its mission is to translate microbiological research into a societal context, thereby generating valuable impulses for science, the environment, and the economy.

Dr. Snaidr’s election to the Executive Board reflects his long-standing commitment to bridging basic research and industrial application. “Microbiology has become essential to addressing the major challenges of our time,” explains Snaidr. “Its potential to improve health, optimize industrial processes, and contribute to environmental preservation is virtually limitless. I look forward to shaping this path further together with the VAAM Executive Board.”
