Abstract
The sensitive microbiological system in wastewater treatment plants requires constant monitoring in order to prevent malfunctions or to optimize existing processes. This kind of monitoring can only be properly achieved with cultivation-independent methods. The VIT® gene probe technology by vermicon is a field-proven analysis system and is bringing light into the “black box” of wastewater microbiology.
