The End of the Black Box

Biological wastewater treatment depends completely on the composition of the bacterial biocenosis in the wastewater treatment plant. When this method was established in wastewater treatment plants a little over 100 years ago, it was, however, not possible to examine the microbiology, as suitable technologies were lacking. Dr. Jiri Snaidr, founder of the vermicon AG, explains which methods allow to analyze, visualize and permanently monitor the wastewater biocenosis directly on site. With the VIT® early warning system, wastewater treatment plant operators are now able to intervene before problems arise and therefore to significantly increase operational safety and to reduce costs.
