The qPCR Test Kits for Wastewater
Due to the complex composition of wastewater, the reliable detection of bacteria and viruses is a challenging task. With vermicon AG's test kits specially developed for wastewater treatment plants, epidemiological wastewater monitoring can be reliably implemented.
The test kits enable continuous monitoring of health-relevant viral loads in wastewater samples.
Your Local Partner
vermicon AG is the pioneer in wastewater microbiology. We support wastewater treatment plants, municipalities and industrial companies in the implementation of epidemiological wastewater monitoring for health-relevant parameters such as corona, influenza, RSV or antibiotic resistance. From sampling to precise evaluation and systematic documentation, we work with our partners to guide you through the entire process.
Proven qPCR Technology Especially for Wastewater
The test kits are specially tailored to the needs of the wastewater industry. They enable accurate analysis of RNA virus particles and sample preparation for robust results. Our qPCR VIT® test kits are based on the proven RT-qPCR method, recommended by the EU Commission and ESI-CorA. The technology enables rapid and precise determination of the virus concentration.
Practice-Proven Analysis and Data Generation
Since 2023, we have been actively involved in the AMELAG project of the German Federal Ministry of Health (BMG) and the Robert Koch Institute (RKI). In this context, our qPCR test kits are used for the continuous monitoring of health-relevant viruses in wastewater samples.
The Advantages
Reliable results despite complex matrix. As a pioneer in wastewater microbiology, vermicon AG offers test kits specially developed for the needs of the wastewater industry for the implementation of epidemiological wastewater monitoring.
Successfully used in Germany's nationwide monitoring project. Outstanding performance in the 2024 round robin test of the Federal Environment Agency with excellent agreement with digital PCR reference values - even in the complex wastewater matrix.
Optimized pre-concentration, extraction control, mutation control and maximum quantification accuracy.
Two gene regions ensure detection stability even in the event of genetic changes in the viruses and already meet future requirements in epidemiological monitoring.
SARS-CoV-2, RSV, influenza A+B, Mpox virus, West Nile virus. Further analysis kits for pathogenic viruses are currently under development.
The test kits enable fast and uncomplicated laboratory procedures and can be used with conventional qPCR thermal cyclers.
