Detection of Influenza A H5N1 Viruses in Wastewater
The qPCR VIT® H5N1 test kit enables the specific and robust detection of the Influenza A H5N1 virus (avian influenza) directly in wastewater samples. In a 4-plex reaction, two genomic regions of the H5N1 virus are detected in parallel. The analysis is performed using qPCR and the data is displayed as a trend curve in the ABE Dashboard of the VIT® Vision software. All essential consumables for carrying out the analysis are included in the test kit. Package size: 100 reactions per kit.
The qPCR VIT® test kits are based on the RT-qPCR method recommended by the EU Commission and ESI-CorA and are used within the AMELAG project of the RKI and UBA.
Your Advantages
Developed by wastewater specialists. Delivers reliable results despite complex matrix thanks to optimized pre-concentration, extraction control, mutation control and highest quantification accuracy.
Outstanding performance in the 2024 round robin test of the German Federal Environment Agency with excellent agreement with digital PCR reference values - even in the complex wastewater matrix.
Since 2023, we have been actively involved in the AMELAG project of the German Federal Ministry of Health (BMG) and the Robert Koch Institute (RKI). In this context, our qPCR test kits are used for the continuous monitoring of health-relevant viruses in wastewater samples.
ensures that nucleic acids have been successfully extracted - for clear results even with negative findings.
Optimized system of extraction, analysis, evaluation and monitoring - developed for scientifically sound, comparable and reliable results.
Meets all requirements according to the Waste Water Directive (EU) 2024/3019 and ESI-CorA. Two gene regions ensure detection stability even in the event of genetic changes in the viruses and already meet future requirements in epidemiological monitoring.
