VIT® Beer plus L. brevis

Test kit for rapid analysis of all beer spoilage lactic acid bacteria
and specifically of L. brevis

Item Number: 01210006

Rapid detection of beer spoilage bacteria

VIT® Beer is the most frequently used fast bacteria detection system in breweries worldwide. Its specificity and reliability, combined with its simple handling and the ability to detect only viable cells, have established VIT® Beer's leading role.
VIT® Beer plus L. brevis detects all members of beer spoilage lactic acid bacteria including identification of the most common beer spoiler Lactobacillus brevis in one test run.
In comparison with conventional methods VIT® Beer plus L. brevis allows time savings of four to five days. It can be applied in all stages of the brewing process: filtrate and non-filtrate area including yeast propagation.

The kit is an ideal complement to our VIT® Beer Megasphaera/Pectinatus

Analysis is easy to conduct – only few minutes hands-on time. Results are provided within 3 hours. Evaluation is performed by using a fluorescence microscope. All essential consumables required for analysis are contained in the kit. Package size: 25 analyses.

Analysis can be performed with following samples:

  • Isolates (directly)
  • Liquid enrichments (directly)
  • Beer and beer based drinks (short pre-enrichment)
  • Hygienic samples (short pre-enrichment)

Send us also your sample for analysis: Detection of all beer spoilage lactic acid bacteria and especially L. brevis.

Alternatively, we are able to conduct a fast and complete VIT® beer screening.

Identical microscopic image after analysis with the test kit: phase contrast, living beer spoiling bacteria shine red, Lactobacillus brevis specifically green.
Identical microscopic image after VIT® analysis: phase contrast, living beer spoiling bacteria shine red. Lactobacillus brevis is identified directly by green color.
