Item Number: 01220005

Lab analysis: screening of beer spoilage lactic acid bacteria

Screening for beer-spoiling lactic acid bacteria in beer and mixed beer drinks. Detection and, in case of occurrence, specific identification of the following bacteria is provided: Lactobacillus backii, Lactobacillus brevis, Lactobacillus buchneri, Lactobacillus casei, Lactobacillus paracasei, Lactobacillus collinoides, Lactobacillus coryniformis, Lactobacillus frigidus, Lactobacillus fructivorans, Lactobacillus lindneri, Lactobacillus perolens, Lactobacillus plantarum, Lactobacillus pseudoplantarum, Lactobacillus rossiae, Pediococcus damnosus, Pediococcus inopinatus.

Results will be provided within 3 working days after sample receipt, in case of readily enriched samples or grown colonies by the next working day.

Qualitative or quantitative detection?
Qualitative

Which method is applied?
The reliable VIT® gene probe technology.

Which requirements are important?
Pre-enriched samples:
To ensure a short analysis time pre-enriched samples are required: bouillons (10ml) or agar plates with colonies.

Escpecially for analysis of beer samples we also recommend the analysis Beer spoilers – Screening PLUS.

For an on-site analysis of beer samples we recommend our kits VIT® Beer Megasphaera/Pectinatus and  VIT® Beer plus L. brevis.
