Lab analysis: detection of Clostridium perfringens in wastewater

Clostridium perfringens are counted amongst anaerobic bacteria which are able to survive even under bad conditions by spore formation. Heat resistance of their spores is characteristic. They occur everywhere in the environment, especially in soil, but also in human and animal intestinal tracts. Ingested with human's food, C. perfringens may cause gastrointestinal toxin infections. With the service "Rapid quantification of Clostridium perfringens" a quantification of Clostridium perfringens cells and spores in wastewater treatment sludges is performed.
