Lab analysis: detection of filamentous bacteria

Identification and quantification of Microthrix parvicella with our VIT® Microthrix test kit. Microthrix parvicella obtains as the most important filamentous organism which causes foam and floating sludge in municipal wastewater treatment plants. As a consequence of the presence of Microthrix parvicella even in digestion towers problems can occur. Particularly before and after combat activies a control of the Microthrix-population with gene probes which detect only living bacteria is reasonable.

The results are displayed according to the VIT® key. The report contains a significant photo documentation that visualises the Microthrix-filaments in the wastewater sample.

Qualitative or quantitative detection?
Semi-quantitative detection

Which method is applied?
The reliable VIT® gene probe technology.

Which requirements are important?
Please request our simple protocol for fixation of wastewater samples. Make sure that you fixate/stabilize your samples in the indicated manner before sending the samples to us.

For an on-site analysis we recommend our test kit VIT® Microthrix.

Your Advantages

  • specific detection of Microthrix parvicella

  • detection of living bacteria exclusively

  • quantification of filaments even in dense sludge flocs

  • highest specificity

  • applied for the prevention of disturbances
