Detecting non-culturable microorganisms
Only a very small percentage of bacteria can be detected using conventional methods. This is due to the fact that it is difficult or not possible to cultivate a large number of bacteria. The vermicon team possesses special knowledge about the detection of unknown microorganisms. Using FISH, DGGE, rRNA-approach and other molecular biology techniques, unknown and culturable microorganisms, even in the smallest quantities, can be reliably identified in highly complex samples.
Identifying bacteria in their environment
Using powerful molecular biological methods we can identify and visualise the intact bacteria cells directly in their own environments, where they are the most relevant for your results: the place they operate in. In addition to the analysis of the prevalent bacteria populations, the sought after bacteria is directly identified and made visible. This prevents undesired artifacts such as population shifts, that occur during investigations using other methods, and allows new and exciting analysis of the bacteria directly at their site of action.
